I am interested in furthering the state of the art in self-driving vehicle technology. During my MASc, I focused heavily on perception components including object detection and tracking while attempting to gain a better understanding of the entire autonomy stack. I was the Team Lead of aUToronto - U of T's self-driving car team from May 2017 to June 2020 during which time we placed first at the Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3 competitions. I remain a technical advisor to the team. For my PhD research, I am exploring the extension of the operational capabilities of self-driving vehicles towards inclement weather conditions such as rain and snow through the application of radar. I am also interested in the the general area of prediction which includes predicting the motion of traffic participants.
